DEAR FRIENDS

Lunch and Learn

Dear friends,

This week after church we will be hosting a lunch and learn in My Brother’s Place for the for the first time since we started planning in Lent of 2023. It has been a long road to get to where we started, and I could not be more excited to share with you what those Lent-Lean-Ins have brought. This will be a time where Trinity guests and members will get to listen to, and engage with Michael Kidney as he speaks on Pride, Kimberly Kefalas about Breakfast at Trinity, Joe Dawson on our Trinity Response Team, Brian Ingman about worship leading, Mark Dubielak, and myself. We will be talking about what our plans for 2026 are in these ministries and answering any questions you have!

We have been working hard over the past few years to establish what community engagement looks like not only at Trinity, but in our larger community as well. We’ll start off by talking about what we discussed back in 2023, then where we are at now. So, come with your questions, and there will be a taco bar, so that is pretty darn exciting. If you’re planning on coming please sign up here so we know how much food to prepare!

Grace and peace,
George M. Benson
Director of Community Engagement

SOUP, SALAD, AND THE SACRED

Give me that Olde Tyme Lent? Sackcloth and ashes? Not at Trinity! Come taste the goodness of the Lord. Wednesdays in Lent you’re invited to explore friendship with God via podcasts and questions while sampling soups in My Brother’s Place. We’ll listen to undocumented saints who willingly share their spiritual life with Jesuit Fr. Jim Martin on his The Spiritual Life podcast: Would you believe who’s there? Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Rohr, Brene Brown, Joyce Rupp and more. Join the soup line! Taste and see the goodness of our soup and share the joy of growing in relationship with God and make more Trinity friends. Dinner starts at 6:00 pm, and we'll wrap up by 7:30 pm. Sign up here .

4-DAY SILENT RETREAT IN WHITEHOUSE

Is your soul craving some “alone time” with God? Are you soul-weary? The Lial Renewal Center  in Whitehouse is offering a 4-day silent retreat Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15. If you are new to silent retreats and are interested in trying one, this is a great retreat to start with: not too long, but long enough; and not too far away. Why take a silent retreat? Life is busy and maybe even busier in our heads. A retreat is a time apart, when you can pray, rest, walk, read, create. Each day, you will meet talk with a spiritual companion with whom you can reflect on the ways God is leading you during these days. Participants gather to begin with prayer together on Thursday, and the retreat ends with a “gathering of the graces” on Sunday afternoon. The cost of the retreat is $400, which includes daily spiritual direction, meals, and a private room. More information is available on the Lial web site. For more information about the retreat experience, talk with Jolene Miller or email her at jolene278@gmail.com . She’s been on this retreat before and will be there in March.

WEDNESDAY PRAYER IN CHAPEL

TRINITY'S PRAYER LIST

Trinity continues to have an active prayer list. If you’d like prayers for yourself or for someone you know, you can request them by contacting the Trinity office (trinity@trinitytoledo.org or 419-243-1231). All prayer requests are shared only with a small intercessory prayer group who, along with parish clergy, offer recurring prayers for each request. When a request is received, it remains on the prayer list for four weeks before it’s taken off. Requests can always be renewed or submitted again; having an “expiration date” simply prevents the list from overflowing with prayer requests that are out of date.

TRINITY@HOME LIVE-STREAM

Trinity@Home is now a live-stream of Trinity’s 10:00 am in-person service with an interactive chat.
