DEAR FRIENDS

Voter Education Forum

Dear friends,

In the fall of 2024, Trinity held a series of classes on what it means to be a faithful Christian and live into our civic lives within that identity. Over the past year, members of our Trinity Response Team have waded further into this as we met with our local, state, and federal representatives. We’ve engaged in slow activism by writing postcards and sending letters, traveled to Washington D.C. and Toledo offices engaging face to face.

On the evening of April 16, the League of Women Voters and Trinity will be hosting our first ever Voter Education Forum around the role of the Secretary of State in Ohio. In this non-partisan event, we will be hearing from State Rep. Allison Russo, Dr. Bryan Hambley, and Mr. Tom Pruss as they engage in why it is important to have opportunities like this. We are so excited to invite you to this, as this collaboration has been in the works between the League and Trinity since December.

It has been encouraging to watch Trinity’s engagement increase, watch folks faithfully living out our Episcopal identity. It has been no small undertaking. During these times, it can be a little nerve-racking to do this. But you, my Trinity family, continue showing up. The event will run from 7-8:30pm so I encourage you to attend when/if you’re able. You can find the link to our Facebook event here, and a site to reserve a seat here. If you have any questions, would like to participate, or have any ideas for future events like this please don’t hesitate to reach out and email me.

Grace and peace,
George Benson
Director of Community Engagement

Do you or someone you know have access to a truck and trailer, or either a truck that can haul or trailer separately? Please reach out to Lexi Haas at 419.276.5553 or Lexi.haas@yahoo.com by April 12 if you can help out with this need so we can plan for our float of ‘Trinity on Wheels!’’

TRINITY TOURS

Sun. April 26 after worship - Following worship on April 26, you are invited to a special tour (the piece de resistance!) of our historic nave. Our sacred space has been a beacon of faith and beauty since its dedication in 1863. We will explore the artistry, symbolism, multiple renovations, stained glass windows and stories. If any of our parishioners have stories or experience around the most recent renovation 25 years ago, Heather would love to hear from you as she prepares! heather@trinitytoledo.org

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

TRINITY'S PRAYER LIST

Trinity continues to have an active prayer list. If you’d like prayers for yourself or for someone you know, you can request them by contacting the Trinity office (trinity@trinitytoledo.org or 419-243-1231). All prayer requests are shared only with a small intercessory prayer group who, along with parish clergy, offer recurring prayers for each request. When a request is received, it remains on the prayer list for four weeks before it’s taken off. Requests can always be renewed or submitted again; having an “expiration date” simply prevents the list from overflowing with prayer requests that are out of date.

TRINITY@HOME LIVE-STREAM

Trinity@Home is now a live-stream of Trinity’s 10:00 am in-person service with an interactive chat.
