DEAR FRIENDS

We are blessed!

Dear Friends,

Now that spring is upon us and flowers are beginning to bloom, many of us have begun to turn our minds to outdoor projects. It’s time for a little spring cleaning! Usually, by this time, we would have started hitting you all up to join us for a few Plaza Workdays. So, you may have noticed that that has been absent so far this year.

Our neighbors in the Four Seagate building have begun the process of planning for some much-needed maintenance work in their parking garage. One of the issues they have identified is some water in the garage that may be related to their drainage systems under our Plaza planters. The water-proofing work that was done on the Plaza, itself, seems to be performing as it was designed – what remains are questions about how water is handled after leaving the planters.

While the professionals are assessing the situation and determining the best path forward, we’re holding off on planning any workdays on the Plaza at this time. We need to make sure our neighbors and project partners have all the space they need to figure out what’s going on down below.

The good news is that this year, the work was already planned to be much less intensive than previous years. And, as the summer progresses, we may be able to plan a work day or two to make sure everything is well loved and cared for. So, stay tuned!

For now, join me in thanking Bruce and Meribah and all the members of this community who have done so much incredible work making that space as beautiful, natural, and functional as it is. We are blessed! And we’ll get back to work as soon as we can.

Blessings,
Jon+

SPIRITUAL FORMATION OPPORTUNITY

Centering prayer is a personal daily practice rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition which began in the early Church and persisted for centuries, both in monastic communities and the broader Church. The prayer practice is based on the wisdom tradition saying of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount: “When you pray, go to your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you” (Matthew 6:6).

The focus of Centering Prayer is the deepening of our relationship with the living Christ within us, leading to personal transformation. To move beyond conversation with Christ to communion with him. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other forms of prayer, but to cast a new light and depth of meaning on them.

An Introductory Workshop for all those interested in learning more about the Centering Prayer practice will be held Saturday, May 2nd from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the large room of the Holy Family Center at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church. A light continental breakfast will be provided. There is no cost to participate. They request that you register by Thursday April 30th: https://www.toledostpats.org/events/centering-prayer-introductory-workshop/form

If you have any questions about the workshop, please send an email to faithformation@toledostpats.org. For more information about centering prayer, talk with Jolene Miller (jolene278@gmail.com)

TRINITY'S PRAYER LIST

Trinity continues to have an active prayer list. If you’d like prayers for yourself or for someone you know, you can request them by contacting the Trinity office (trinity@trinitytoledo.org or 419-243-1231). All prayer requests are shared only with a small intercessory prayer group who, along with parish clergy, offer recurring prayers for each request. When a request is received, it remains on the prayer list for four weeks before it’s taken off. Requests can always be renewed or submitted again; having an “expiration date” simply prevents the list from overflowing with prayer requests that are out of date.

TRINITY@HOME LIVE-STREAM

Trinity@Home is now a live-stream of Trinity’s 10:00 am in-person service with an interactive chat.
