Totality at Trinity Monday, April 8 Doors open at 9am Potluck at 12pm

We’ve come to realize that the Greater Toledo Area has stepped up to the challenge of throwing every sort of eclipse party. You may have your sights set on one of those many gatherings. But we are here to offer up our homegrown celebration - Totality at Trinity where you can celebrate being an "Eclipsopalian"!
It’s pretty simple and flexible. Parking downtown will be challenging. Therefore, we will be here to welcome you in at 9am or anytime thereafter. Sit and read. Pray or meditate in our sanctuary. Nap on a couch. Bring a book, board games, cards or an art project. We’ve got the room. (And Heather can always find a project for you.)
Bring food to share. Nothing says potluck like a total eclipse. We’ve got ovens and microwaves for heating purposes. Refrigerators too.
Wear your walking shoes. Our neighbors at Imagination Station have been planning their celebration for over a year. It’s all free and amazingly well thought out. Downtown will be bustling. Trinity’s location is perfectly poised as we can look out from our shiny plaza to take it all in.
So Welcome Home, friends! Make a day of it and take your time trying to get out of downtown.

Trinity Music+Arts Sondheim Community Concert
Trinity, we have heard your requests! One small concert a month? YOU'VE GOT IT! Mark your calendars for our upcoming Sondheim Concert on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:00pm. Your favorite Trinity Music Team (Bradley, Kim, Melissa, Chelsie and Grace) will all be singing and playing songs we love from our favorite Sondheim shows, like "Being Alive," "Send in the Clowns" and "The Miller's Son" to name a few. Two-Part Seminar Begins this Sunday
Buried in The Book of Common Prayer of The Episcopal Church is the following directive to people who serve in my position:
“The minister of the congregation is directed to instruct the people, from time to time, about the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provision for the well-being of their families, and of all persons to make wills, while they are in health, arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods, not neglecting, if they are able, to leave bequests for religious and charitable uses.” —The Book of Common Prayer, Page 445
In response to several requests, I will be offering two sessions on planning for the end of life. My wife, Terry, and I have just updated our wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives. We did this in order to make it easier for each other and for our four children by exercising control over what happens if we are incapable of making our own decisions about finances and healthcare while we are alive, and by giving clear directions for what happens after we die.

Here’s my disclaimer: I am not an attorney, a financial planner, or a health care provider. These professionals are essential parts of the team you need to make sure your estate and other plans reflect your values. What I will do is to provide information that will help you prepare to create the documents needed to ensure you have communicated your wishes.
And, of course, I am a priest – so I am the professional who can assist you in deciding about your funeral plans.
We’ll meet in the Living Room – the open space on the way to the parking garage after coffee hour winds down. Whether you are among the 50% of people who have yet to make a will, or want Trinity to have a record of what hymns you want sung at your funeral service, this adult formation session about being a good steward is for you! I hope you’ll join me.

| “Wakey, Wakey” by Will Eno to be Performed at Trinity Area Premiere of Off-Broadway Play April 12, 13, & 14
Actors Collaborative Theater, Trinity’s building partner, announces the performance of “Wakey, Wakey” by Will Eno in the newly renovated performance space located in St. Mark’s Chapel.
The play, performed as a staged reading, features ACT co-founder (and Trinity Junior Warden) Jeffrey J. Albright as Guy and is directed by another one of ACT’s co-founders, Barbara Barkan. Rounding out the cast is Thea Catherine Grabiec as Lisa. The play will feature an original soundscape created by local musician Mark Owen and projected images that were featured in the original Off-Broadway production of the play designed by Peter Nigrini.
The play asks the questions: What are we here for? Is time a friend or an enemy? Do we all eventually end up in the same place, but take different routes to get there?
This funny, moving, and thought-provoking play challenges the notion of what really matters and recognizes the importance of life’s simple pleasures.
Wakey, Wakey will be performed at 8:00 p.m. on April 12 & 13, 2024 and 3:00 p.m. on April 14, 2024. Tickets are available at www.act419.org

In the last several days, Leah Reed Dailey submitted her resignation from the Vestry. After much thought and discernment, she has realized that her plate is full and is soon to be fuller between being a business owner and a soon-to-be new mother. We thank Leah for her faithful service.
In accordance with Trinity’s by-laws, the Vestry have elected Kyle Grefe to serve in Leah’s spot until the next Annual Meeting when she will be eligible to be elected to fulfill the remainder of Leah’s term through January of 2026.
|  | Join us for this all-ages celebration of our amazing planet! People of all faiths or no faith alike share a concern for living in harmony with our environment. We come together for learning, service, and fun!
We begin with a brief MultiFaith Prayer Service, honoring multiple religious and secular traditions, followed by a presentation by Hal Mann entitled: Sacred Grounds: Care for Creation. Participants then can explore children’s activities, displays from local Sacred Grounds faith centers and from earth-based spiritualities, and a service project preparing for raised beds and spring planting in a new community garden.
There is no cost to attend, and no RSVP is necessary.
| BASEBALL WITH THE BISHOP - JUNE 16 (FATHER'S DAY)

It's a Funday on Father's Day with the West Mission Area of the Diocese of Ohio, Bishop Jolly, and the Toledo Mudhens. Tickets include ballpark entry, seat, food, and drinks (excluding alcohol). The party is in The Nest. With Fifth Third Field as the backdrop, this prime outdoor party deck is located on the ballpark's second level above the right field line. The Nest provides a great view of the Mud Hens game.
The game on June 16 is against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Bishop Jolly, diocesan staff members, and their families will join us for a great day. Episcopalians across the diocese are invited to come cheer for the Mudhens. Here are the details:

Tickets are $28 each. The deadline for purchase is Sunday, May 19. Tickets will be distributed by email after the May 19 deadline. After the deadline, fans may certainly purchase game tickets directly from the Mudhens. You may join us in The Nest, but your seat will be elsewhere, and you won't receive a wristband for the buffet.
In case of a rain out, the Mudhens will move our party indoors. The food is prepared and served. Participants on site will receive a voucher for another game on their own.
The buffet will run for 90 minutes from 1:45 to 3:15. The menu is: Grilled Hot Dogs, Grilled Hamburgers, Mac & Cheese, Tossed Salad, Lay's Potato Chips, assorted cookies, assorted can Pepsi products, & bottled water.

Communal meals are an important part of church life. It is a time outside of normal service and operations to get to know the people we worship with every week, not to mention those in our greater community as well. As word continues to get out about Breakfast at Trinity (B@T), we’ll see some new and old faces. There is a chance we may also have to help out with wayfinding as it is no secret - it’s easy to get turned around inside our space. Looking ahead, there are a few things to keep in mind: - Doors open at 8:30, food starts at 8:45.
